GIVEAWAY TOOL BY KUDOS.TV — PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what data Giveaway Tool by kudos.tv ("the Tool") collects, why, and how it's handled. We keep it simple because our data practices are simple.

WHAT WE COLLECT

When you use the Tool as a streamer (broadcaster):

- Your Twitch user ID, username, and display name (from Twitch OAuth)

- Your Twitch profile image URL

- Your email address (from Twitch, used only for account identification)

- Your giveaway settings and configuration preferences

- Your giveaway history (stored locally in your browser, last 50 giveaways)

- Your panel appearance settings (stored on our servers to deliver to viewers)

When you use the Tool as a viewer:

- Your Twitch user ID and username (provided by Twitch Extension framework)

- Whether you are a subscriber, moderator, or VIP (for eligibility checks)

- Whether you follow the channel (only checked if the streamer requires it)

- Your giveaway entry (the fact that you entered, and when)

When you use the OBS overlay:

- No additional data is collected. The overlay reads giveaway state from the broadcaster's session.

WHAT WE DON'T COLLECT

- We don't use analytics or tracking tools (no Google Analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting)

- We don't track your browsing behavior

- We don't collect payment information (the Tool is free)

- We don't sell or share data with third parties

- We don't collect data from your chat beyond giveaway entry commands

HOW DATA IS STORED

- Browser storage: Your giveaway settings, history, and auth tokens are stored in your browser's localStorage. You can clear this anytime through your browser settings.

- Session storage: Temporary entry state (whether you've entered the current giveaway) is stored in sessionStorage and cleared when you close the tab.

- Server storage: Active giveaway state (entries, timer, settings) is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure during a giveaway to sync between your browser and the extension. Panel appearance settings are also stored server-side so viewers can see your customizations.

- Twitch Configuration Service: Panel settings may also be stored via Twitch's own configuration service as a backup.

HOW LONG DATA IS KEPT

- Active giveaway data: Only while the giveaway is running. Entries are not retained after the giveaway ends.

- Giveaway history: Stored locally in your browser. Limited to 50 entries. You can delete it anytime from the dashboard.

- Panel configuration: Stored on our servers until you change or reset it.

- Auth tokens: Stored in your browser until you clear your browser data or they expire.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

- Twitch (twitch.tv): Authentication, chat, user profiles, extension framework. Governed by Twitch's Privacy Policy.

- Cloudflare (cloudflare.com): Server infrastructure and data storage. Governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com): Font loading for the OBS overlay. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

No other third-party services receive your data.

TWITCH EXTENSION PERMISSIONS

The Tool requests the following Twitch OAuth scopes:

- moderator:read:followers — To check if a viewer follows the channel (when follower-only giveaways are enabled)

- user:write:chat — To send giveaway announcements and winner messages in chat

- user:manage:whispers — To optionally send a whisper/DM to the winner

- moderator:manage:chat_messages — To optionally auto-delete entry command messages from chat

These permissions are only used for giveaway functionality. They are requested during the initial Twitch login and can be revoked at any time through your Twitch settings (Settings > Connections).

YOUR RIGHTS

- You can clear all locally stored data by clearing your browser storage

- You can uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data collection

- You can disconnect the Tool from your Twitch account via Twitch Settings > Connections

- If you want us to delete any server-side data associated with your channel, email us

CHILDREN

The Tool is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you're under 13, don't use the Tool.

CHANGES

We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use means acceptance.
